Shrek on Broadway is a show for the ages!
Its been quite a journey for Shrek on Broadway. It all started with William Steig’s 1990 children’s book called Shrek. It told the tale of an ugly ogre that would rather be left alone because of others judging him on his looks (and smell). The book was eventually turned into a movie by the upstart DreamWorks and became on of the most beloved children’s movies of all time. At this point, nobody was thinking about Shrek on Broadway. The film won an Oscar and spawned currently two sequels, although more are on the way. Shrek became a children’s favorite, and the television special “Shrek the Halls” was one of the most watched programs of the year.
Eventually, someone figured out that Shrek would make a great musical, and work started on bringing to life Shrek on Broadway. The show’s producers ran Shrek Musical run in Seattle in order to work out the kinks of the show before its grand opening in New York. Shrek on Broadway has been one of the most expensive musicals to put together, and with good reason! The show has some of the best costumes ever seen on a stage, and Shrek on Broadway has loads of special effects that make the Shrek Musical truly unforgettable.
Shrek on Broadway began preview showings on November 8 and will begin full-out showings on December 14. Shrek on Broadway tickets are going to be some of the most sought after musical tickets in all the web.
